How to play for beginners

Become familiar with the Affinity system

There are four types of affinities in RAID: Shadow Legends, and you need to know them all to be successful. The three affinities exist in balance with each other, and the fourth affinity has no particular advantages or disadvantages relative to the others.

Magic (Blue): Defeat Spirit (Green), Weak than Strength (Red);

Spirit (green): Defeats power (red), weak to magic (blue);

Strength (red): Defeats magic (blue), weaker than spirit (green);

Void (Purple): No counterattack, no weakness.

Thorough recall and understanding of these affinities and the way they interact is often a key deciding factor in combat.

Work hard to complete progress tasks

For those who find the tutorial too short, the progression missions can be a huge help. These carefully curated missions are designed to acclimate players to RAID: Legends of Shadows' many systems. They also offer completion rewards - you can even earn an Arbiter as a champion by completing half of the progression missions! Think of them as optional extended tutorials.

Join your favorite tribe

Many players are so keen on joining a clan in Raid: Legends of Shadows that they will jump right in and join any clan at random. While the benefits of joining a tribe may be tempting, we recommend not joining until you get to know the community. Try to find a tribe whose members might be more willing to play with you or help new players. Taking the time to find the perfect community is one of the most important RAID: Legends of Shadows tips we can offer.

When you start, you also need to check if the clan you want to join can consistently defeat the Demon King clan leader. Demon Lord Chests can drop super useful items like shards and skill books, and defeating this massive threat will grant you two chests instead of one! Don't waste your time on tribes that fail to defeat this boss every time - do your research and find those tribes that are able to kill the demon lord without fail.
