Here you need to choose a railcard that suits your age or situation to get the best discounts. For example, if you are over 60, it would be beneficial for you to get a premium railcard.
Apply for a railcard
After entering your railcard details (e.g. date, photo), you can click the "Add" button to apply your railcard to your ticket.
Once completed, you will see the discounted price. If you are satisfied with the price and time, you can complete your ticket purchase.
Using railcards and train line accounts
If you have a railcard, you can use it on the trainline app. You can do this by following these steps:
Navigate to the Railcard option
Launch and log into your account on the Trainline app. Then select the "More" option in the lower right corner. Select "Railcard" from the drop-down menu.
Add your railcard
Click the "+ Add" button in the new screen. Here you can select the type of railcard you have. Once found, you have to enter your railcard details such as railcard name, number and expiry date. Then click "Add Railcard" and save your Railcard to your account.
You can then use a valid British Railcard to save 1/3 on your train or coach fare.
How much does a railcard cost?
The cost of each railcard is different, depending on the annual option and type of railcard. Most railcards cost ?30 per year, but a disabled railcard costs just ?20. If you choose the three-year option, the 16-25, Seniors, Veterans and Family & Friends railcards cost ?70, so you save ?20 by buying the three-year term. However, a disabled railcard with a three-year option costs just ?54. Two Together, 16-17, 26-30 and Network Railcard do not offer a 3 year option.
When can I use my railcard?
This depends on the type of railcard you have. In fact, you can save money by using your railcard during off-peak times, weekends and public holidays. However, some age-related railcards can be used at lower fares during peak times. If you have a disability railcard, you can use it at any time.
Purchased railcard not found in the app
You must log into your account using the same email address you used to purchase your railcard. Then go to Account > Your Railcards to see a list of your purchased railcards.

If your account has expired, you will not be able to use it on the Trainline app. You need to update it before adding it to the application.
